Three Freeriders were part of a team of 4 women who did extremely well recently in the Mauri Kautto time trial. The team consisted of Tracy Rice, Nic Brewer and Jayne Creamer from Freeriders, along with Gabe Murphy of Murwillumbah CC. They came 2nd and were 'stoked' with their results. And why not? Congratulations on a great team effort.
Byron Bay Freeriders Cycling Club held the first in a series of Road Races on Sunday 11 May along Myocum Rd. Results. There were 12 riders in total. The results:- B grade - 1st John Guy, 2nd Kerin O'Grady, 3rd Anthony Condon, with Shane Hulbert, Pete McMahon & Chris Pratt finishing later.
C grade - 1st Dave Price, 2nd Brett Boyd, 3rd David Rixon, with Doug Hillman & Nicky Brewer (D) finishing later. Junior Jo Bury had a good go at it. Thanks also to Commissaire Dave Scully, the lead car driver and the traffic controllers and marshalls.
The next Road Race will be on 14 September.
Overall Series winner for the 2007/08 Criterium Series was Ian Lake from Northern Rivers Cycle Club with a $200 Voucher from Free to Ride bikeshop at Byron Bay.
The $100 Free to Ride Vouchers went to the Byron BayFreeriders club members who finished at the top of the various grades. These were:- n A - Trent Brewer, B - Jethro Lampe, C - Glen Hannan, and D - Nicky Brewer
